OUTSTANDING SERVICES TO ALTON
This award is made on an annual basis with a view to acknowledging the personal contribution made by an appropriate individual towards the town. This can be through work, voluntary activity, or other means and should be associated with an activity that has been of outstanding benefit to the community.

The term ‘services’ can be interpreted to include one or more of the following

Promoting and encouraging the rational development of Alton plus its environs and amenities

Stimulating interest in the history of Alton and surrounding communities

Stimulating / promoting interest and participation in Alton town events

Supporting and promoting the successful delivery of Alton and surrounding community events

Promoting sustainable living and associated events within the local community

Supporting local charities

Working for and promoting enhancement of local features of historical, cultural or aesthetic importance to the town and local communities
